I have been an educator for 44 years. I have taught elementary school math, middle school math and had been a math coach for Pinellas County prior to my retirement last year. My belief has been that students can learn if they are supported in that endeavor. High expectations were the norm in my classroom. I used manipulatives and hands-on activities to develop concepts. Students who did not succeed the first time were given alternative instruction and assignments. The same strategies I use
