I have taught in Detroit for the past 13 years and have loved every minute of it. I teach U.S. History, Economics, Civics, ELA Foundations, grammar, reading and have an Advisory of ninth grade students that I will keep through their graduation. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham, which has helped me work with my students who don't read at grade level. My lessons are scripted, which means that I require students to take notes and I teach them exactly what I want them to write. They earn grades
