I spent four years working with my local synagogue to teach 12-13 year-olds their Hebrew prayers in preparation for their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. I worked with an average of 6 students each year to help them gain confidence in their own abilities, enough so that they would feel comfortable leading the congregation in chanting Hebrew prayers, and I also worked with them on things like pronunciation and understanding.
