I grew up in a family speaking Urdu, so it was technically my first language. When I got into school, I quickly excelled at reading and vocabulary, and that is something that has stayed with me. I studied Spanish for a total of 6 years through junior high and high school. At that same time, I began learning Japanese. I had 2 years in high school, with an additional 2 years in college.
