I am currently an adjunct instructor of history at Belhaven University in their Adult Education department. Many of my students do not like history because their previous experience has been simply memorizing dates and people. We focus on why something mattered and why we are taking the time to remember an event.I call these "tipping points" and we think through what would have happened if a battle had a different outcome or a queen would have died sooner or an election was won or lost.
