I’ve been an educator and tutor for 17 years. In regard to tutoring, the first thing I do when I meet potential students is do a diagnosis of their skills. This can be a short test or assessment so I can determine what they have mastered, what they may need to review and what they don't yet know. While the students are taking the prescribed assessment, I would use that test time to review their old worksheets, notebooks, quizzes and tests so I can get a better sense and understanding of what t
