I was born and raised in Northern Michigan. I finished undergrad at Earlham College with a BA in biochemistry, where I also played intercollegiate soccer while working as a organic chemistry tutor and Anatomy and Physiology teaching assistant. After graduating, I lived in Boston for 1.5 years while working as a lab tech at Mass General Hospital. I then moved to San Francisco where I joined the National Guard while volunteering in various medical capacities, as well as tutoring multiple subjects
