Maxwell T. C. is an award-winning writer. He grew up in Baxley, Georgia, and graduated from high school there. He attended and graduated from the University of Georgia, Athens, with an ABJ degree in journalism and an MA degree in journalism. His PhD. degree in American studies is from the University of Hawaii-Manoa. He served two years in the US Army. He has worked as a professional journalist and a college and university public affairs officer. He began full-time college teaching in 1984.
